The benefits of vitamin C have been known since Linus Pauling received the Noble Peace Price in 1962. In 2004, an optometrist discovered what appears to be a link between high doses of vitamin C and coronary disease. Dr Sydney Bush of North of London, noticed that when he treated patients with high doses of vitamin C to prevent or treat contact lens problems, that it tended to reverse arterial disease. He uses both internal and external image of the eye to monitor the width and number of arteries in the eye. There is hope that this non-invasive technique could be used to monitor coronary artery disease and that high dose vitamin C could be a viable treatment. In addition, The Truth About Cancer documentary series covered some of the highly positive results of high dose vitamin C as a treatment for cancer.
