The Wonders of Celery Juice

With so much information available on-line, it always intrigues me when a topic comes up more than once.  That is what happened for me with celery juice.  I would think the larger the variety of greens, the better.  But celery is very powerful on it’s own.

In the book Medical Medium by Anthony Williams, he says celery juice, “is one of the most powerful and healing juices we can drink. Just 16 ounces of fresh celery juice every morning on an empty stomach can transform your health and digestion in as little as one week.”

Turns out that one compound contained in celery is coumarin.  Coumarins are thought to support the vascular system and enhance the activity of white blood cells.  It is said to  help purify the bloodstream, aid in digestion, relax the nerves, reduce blood pressure, and clear up skin problems. Celery is also rich in vitamin A, magnesium, and iron, which all help to nourish the blood.   Being rich in organic sodium content, celery juice may have the ability to dislodge calcium deposits from the joints and hold them in solution until they can be eliminated safely from the kidneys.

And if that isn’t enough, Dr Mercola reported that researchers  at The University of Missouri produced at study that stated that they’d found a non-toxic treatment that can stop breast cancer in its tracks.

The study stated that the treatment worked even on deadly, fast-growing breast tumors,  by inhibiting cell growth and reducing expression of a gene associated with cancer malignancy.

You guessed it, the needed ingredient, apigenin, is an active ingredient in celery and other fruits and vegetables.  I know I will never look at celery the same way again.
